Scottish saxophonist Lewis Banks is a musical moving target, and no stranger to diverse and adventurous concert programming. In Chrysalis, Banks takes to the stage as saxophone soloist in a genre - fluid concert experience of 1 hour, with pre - recorded backings as his musical partner.
Electra Perivolaris's contemporary classical stylings and experimental soundscapes sit unapologetically alongside Stuart McCallum's jazz-tinged electronica. Straddling the divide, Graham Fitkin's 2005 work, Passing, hypnotises with its brooding drone backing and genre-ambiguous saxophone lines.
Released on Eleven Kinds Records in 2021, Chrysalis now comes to life as a magical live experience, celebrating blurred genre - lines for what they are: exciting, uninhibited places to make music
